DO NOT use AAA Appliance Service, 6424 N. Florida Avenue, Tampa, Fl. 813-238-7491 - On Jan 27, 2015 AAA Appliance Service came to my home to fix what I described as an intermittent problem with my refrigerator. The problem was that sometimes the refrigerator was cold and other times it was not (i.e. the ice cream was soft). - After a few tests, the technician said the problem was due to dirty coils but said he could not clean them because there was a plate on the bottom of the refrigerator.- He said he could clean them outside with a hose but did not have a hand truck to move the refrigerator so I helped him move the refrigerator and also let him use an my air compressor to blow out dust and dry the coils after hosing them with water.- The temperature in the fridge and freezer improved but it did not solve the problem so I called the company at 10:50 AM on 2/9/2015 and they said the tech would come out between 12PM and 2PM. - Around 2:30 PM I called the company and inquired about the arrival of the tech, they said they don't come unless they confirm by phone and that I did not answer my phone. I raised my voice saying it was ridiculous because I had just confirmed with them at 10:50AM. 1) I looked at my call log and did not see any calls from them. 2) They never told me that they would not send the tech unless they confirmed. They hung up on me saying that I yelled at them. - I called back again and asked to speak to the owner. The lady said she was mgr and had power of attorney and when I asked for her full name she hung up.- I called again to a different number. The lady said she was the owners wife and rather than be rational about servicing her customer she was argumentative and hung up. Remember that they did not repair the fridge the first time, they did not have the proper equipment (hand truck and air compressor) and they did not show up during the time they said they would be here.- I will now try to find a competent appliance repair company that knows that their customers are the reason they are in business.-Would you be irate if you paid for a repair that didn't fix the problem? Would you be irate if someone did not arrive at the agreed appointment time even though you agreed to the time just one hour before the scheduled appt?
